Mac Do @ Kamla Nagar

Après de folles recherches, j'en ai conclu que THE quartier où nous devions habiter était Kamla Nagar. Je vous laisse apprécier les raisons de ce choix par la lecture de cet article ... en anglais bien sûr ! Et pensez à bien rouler les "R" !

Delhi is famous for its large markets and its cheap but good merchandise. It has several sprawling markets and shopping center. Kamla Nagar is one of the most popular areas to shop in (je suis pas une fille pour rien ^^) It is also very close to the University of Delhi (ça nous rappelera qu'on doit aller à la fac de temps en temps). Therefore, it is the hang out of college students during the break. Due to the proximity to the University, there are many college students living very close in either hostels or rented accommodation. The Kamala Nagar market provides them with the necessary restaurants and shops for their daily needs. This market is also renowned for its popular brands of fashion apparel and designer clothes (là, c'est de la curiosité, j'aimerai bien voir ça !) One can see large number of students wandering among the different stalls selecting clothes and cosmetics. The MacDonald's and Domino (ça permet d'avoir quelques repères et de gouter des hamburgers végétariens !) outlets attract the students who hang out here with their friends.

Kamla nagar was originally developed as a residential area but due to the absence of any market nearby and its closeness to the University of Delhi it became a lucrative commercial area. The Market is built in the style that is prevalent all around the city. This type of construction has one roundabout or ‘Gol Chakkars’ as they are called in Hindi, from which several roads emerge. They house several expensive showrooms. The lower floors of the market house the retail stores and restaurants while most of the upper stories are residential quarters. A number of booksellers and publishers have their offices in this market. Kamla Nagar is closed on Mondays.

Kamala Nagar is a vibrant, young people's market (parfaiiiit, vas-y, dis le parfaiiiit !) The proximity of the Univerisity, the large student community who patronize the shops has made this market a haven for students. A visitor to Delhi will get a glimpse of young Delhi within the portals of this market!

Et j'ajoute que j'ai choisi le quartier pour qu'il soit à côté de DU, je suis pas suicidaire quand même ^^
